HUMANITARIAN PROJECTS

I’ve recently linked up with a number of charities to highlight their work and help them obtain coverage in the local, national and international press. For example, I spent a week in Port Au Prince, Haiti, with photographer, Angela Catlin, to document an escalating conflict between armed militias and UN soldiers and to focus on the humanitarian efforts of the Scottish charity, Mary’s Meals. This led to articles being published by The Sunday Times, Sunday Herald, Catholic Herald and The Big Issue in Scotland.

I’ve also worked with Casa Alianza, Mines Advisory Group, Lutheran World Federation, Concern-Nepal, UNHCR, Scottish Refugee Council and the Welsh Refugee Council.

In 2008, Angela and I produced a major photography exhibition about Iraqi refugees that ran for three months in Glasgow, Scotland. There are now plans to show it in Cardiff, Liverpool, Leicester and Geneva.

We were also commissioned by the organisers of the 6th International Middle East Festival 2009 to produce a major piece of journalistic work entitled Peacemakers of Israel and Palestine. Our words and photography were showcased at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh.

We can provide professional writing and photography services for websites and in-house publications and produce multi-media packages.

NB - Please note that as professional journalists Angela and I must always strive to be balanced, fair and impartial and act with integrity.
