Journalists are increasingly using different formats to tell stories and multimedia involves the use of text, pictures, music, sound, videos, animations and more. Over the past few years I've collaborated with a number of organisations to tell stories in new ways.
Projects to date include Life After Iraq which was a venture involving photojournalist Angela Catlin and the Scottish Refugee Council. Angela and I travelled to Syria to document the stories of Iraqi refugees in Damascus and we produced a series of articles for the press complemented by a photography exhibition and video package that is still touring Britain.
In 2008, Angela and I visited Israel and the West Bank to document the work of some remarkable peace initiatives for a Peacemakers of Israel/Palestine Exhibition which was shown as part of the annual Edinburgh International Festival of MESP (Middle Eastern Spirituality and Peace).
A recent collaboration with Freedom from Torture resulted in a series of press articles and another photography exhibition and later this year a book is due out which documents the stories of asylum seekers in Scotland rebuilding their lives after being subjected to torture in their homelands.
I've also worked with the Welsh Refugee Council, Mines Advisory Group, Scottish International Relief, Mary's Meals, International Network of Street Papers, Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund, Hands Together and the Bhopal Medical Appeal.
Thanks for your time.
